I encourage you to sit before the Lord and simply ask Him to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. My hope is that this vlog will help you feel comfortable and understand that you don’t have to be afraid.
There may be opposition. The enemy may try to fill your mind with doubt, fear, or thoughts that tell you nothing is happening. Don’t listen to him. Keep your attention on the Lord and trust Him.
Remember, your prayer language may sound completely different from anyone else’s. Don’t compare yourself to what you have heard from other people. Be patient with yourself. Have faith, yield to the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to lead you.
The Holy Spirit's empowerment can change the way you walk with God.
Acts 2:4 says, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Notice something important here.
Who began to speak? They did.
Who gave the utterance? The Holy Spirit.
They opened their mouths and spoke, but the Holy Spirit gave them the utterance.
Throughout the New Testament, when people received the infilling of the Holy Spirit, there were outward manifestations of His presence. We see people speaking in tongues and prophesying as the Holy Spirit moved through them.
And Jesus gave us this beautiful promise:
Luke 11:13 says, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
I love this scripture because it brings everything back to the heart of the Father.
You are not trying to convince a reluctant God to give you something.
You are asking a loving Father who desires to give good gifts to His children.
So, ask Him. Believe that you receive. Yield yourself to Him and begin to worship and praise Him. If the Holy Spirit gives you an utterance you have never learned, don’t be afraid to speak it. Even if it begins with only a few sounds, trust Him and allow Him to lead you.
Just keep your eyes on Jesus.
The language you will begin to speak is the language of heaven.
Enjoy discovering the beautiful relationship He has been inviting you into all along.
