Baptism in the Holy Spirit Testimony

I know a lot of people have given up on ever receiving the gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit for many reasons. Often, it's because somebody made them super uncomfortable or never explained  the purpose of the gift. I hope and pray that you can forget anything that's happened to you in the past and move forward to receiving this incredible gift from the Lord.

I'm going to do a Vlog showing you an example of speaking in tongues, but before I do, I will give you my personal testimony. I was 19 years old at a church camp. My story differs from many other believers, but nonetheless, it all leads to the power and Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I had been struggling for most of my younger years, and while sitting in Chapel, the pastor, whom I had never met, called my name out a couple of times before the lady standing next to me said, "Is your name Kim?" I was under a deep demonic attack and physically couldn’t move in my chair. When he called my name again, I could now physically move and walked up to the altar when he had called me up. He said he saw me under a demonic attack and started to share what he was seeing in his Spirit regarding what I was going through back at my seat. He then said the Lord wanted to set me free. Now back at my seat, the service was ending, and I was exhausted. I went back to my room. I was by myself in the room, and as soon as I laid down, I was filled/baptized with the Holy Spirit. I personally felt it fall upon my head and run all the way to my feet (not everyone feels this). I saw the baptism of the Holy Spirit in action on people from my childhood church, but I never understood the purpose of it. That night I began to speak feverishly in the spirit for over an hour. Even though I didn't ask for it like some scripture say, "ask for it and you will receive," I never rejected it. The Disciples didn’t know what to ask for, yet they received also. This experience was the most supernatural encountering Love of God. The next paragraph will explain really the love of our Father and how much He wants us to have this communication with Him. I also believe this is why my experience was the way that it was.

I lived with a friend and her son, and when I went home the following day, she kicked me out of her apartment for a misunderstanding. I called my sister, and she was willing to let me stay with her. I slept on the sofa with the window open because she had just painted her new condo, and the condo smelled like paint. As I laid on the sofa sound asleep, I heard a voice say, "Wake up, Kim!" I was so tired from the long weekend that it was a struggle. I heard the voice again, "Wake up, Kim!" Again, I could barely move. The third time I heard, "Wake up now, Kim!" Forcing my tired body off the sofa to sit up and rubbing my eyes to focus, I looked up, and there was a man standing on the opposite side of me across the coffee table. I looked at him and then around the room, still being very fatigued, I couldn't figure out who he was. There was just enough light from the moon shining in that I could see in the dark. My sister's purse was in the chair next to him, but his eyes were locked on me. I did not feel fear as my mind was trying to figure out the situation. I soon realized the man had climbed through the window that was open to air out the condo; I don't know how long he stood there and watched me sleep. As I began to talk to him and ask him questions, he would not respond. Then the thought came to me to yell upstairs so he would know someone else was in the house. Truthfully, it was only my sister and her very young son. But that was enough for him to leave when he realized there were more people in the house to contend with. I believe now that the Holy Spirit fell on me at camp that weekend so I would know his voice so clearly that when he told me to get up, I would. I do not know that man's intentions, but God did, and He protected me. I know my Heavenly Father knew I needed Him so desperately. The reason I'm sharing this is for you to realize He wants you to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit far more than you can imagine; He wants you to have the empowerment of this Gift. This was the start of my close walk with the Lord, many times He rescued me and gave me wisdom that I never could have known without Him. So, as you watch this vlog, I encourage you to sit before the Lord and ask to receive. I'm hoping the vlog will help you feel comfortable, but remember the enemy's going to give you opposition, don't listen to him. Your language will be different than any language you hear from anybody else. It may just start with a few syllables just like when a child learns to speak. Be patient with yourself and have faith. The empowerment of the Holy Spirit will be like nothing you've ever experienced.

Acts 2:4, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Who did the speaking? They did. Who gave the utterance? The Holy Spirit.

Every time the Holy Spirit falls on an individual in the New Testament, a gift of the Holy Spirit manifests and gives evidence that they have received the infilling of the Spirit. In the New Testament, they usually spoke in tongues or prophesied.

Luke 11:13 says, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” All you have to do right now is ask, believe that you receive, yield yourself to God, begin to worship the Lord, and He will give you an utterance to worship and praise Him in a language you have never learned.
