There may be seasons of waiting or uncertainty, but God's Word never returns empty. Hold on, keep believing, and trust that He is faithful to complete what He has begun.
Very little background is given about Elijah in the Bible. He simply appears on the scene without any introduction to his family, upbringing, or accomplishments. It was not his history that brought him to the forefront. It was the word he carried from God. His authority did not come from an impressive résumé or a well-known name. It came from the fact that he had heard from the Lord and was willing to speak what God had said.
1 Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”
Each one of us has a word from God. If we are saved, we have God’s Word on salvation; if we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, we have God’s Word on the baptism; and so on.
The only difference is that Elijah knew what he had and was fearless in speaking it. He went right to the top person in the nation. Sometimes people want to pray and see God move, and then they will stand and say, “I prayed for that.” That’s not the way it works. We need to speak, and the signs will follow us (Mark 16:17-18).
Don't let go of God's promises or the word He has spoken over your life.
Be obedient. Continue to stand.
Trust God. In His perfect timing, He will fulfill every purpose He has spoken according to His will
