Hearing the voice of God

I think it's important to share with you my relationship with our Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit. When you read my writings, you will often find me mentioning that I heard from the Lord, talked to the Lord, or saw a vision. This was not always the case but came from a deep desire I had many years ago to hear God's voice. I was so desperate for His direction, especially after my son Wesley passed away. I can say that the Lord is now my best friend.

When I realized that so many people don't hear the voice of God, at first, I thought something was wrong with me. I even stopped saying "the Lord told me" because I didn't want to make the person I was speaking to uncomfortable. Now, as He speaks to me more and throughout every day, I want to shout it from the rooftops! I want to help empower anyone who desires to have a deeper relationship with God. He wants you to hear His voice clearly, so you can live out these verses...

John 10:27-28

27 The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.

Psalm 91:1

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

I depend on Him for everything. I ask Him for all my direction because I know I abide under His shadow and that’s the only place I want to be.  I started to share with people and they would say I wish I could hear from the Lord like you do Kimmy, and I would say you can. He desires a relationship with you more then you do. I started to ask the Lord about why some did not hear His voice and He shared with me two things, first is they put their self-will (self-righteousness) between their relationship with Him and secondly their agenda before His. Jesus is not going to go against the will of His Father. Remember everything points to Jesus and His goodness. He wouldn't answer a request that would only end up hurting you, He loves us too much. It takes time to build a relationship with anyone, we just have to start by asking questions and getting to know Him. So, I encourage all of us to just start talking to Him more.
