Our Charis Story

Joshua and Victoria's Story

Our journey with Charis began in 2020 at the Summer Family Bible Conference. My parents generously flew us to Colorado to attend the conference, where our hearts were ignited with a desire to join Charis Bible College and move to Colorado. However, upon returning to Michigan, our church pastor dissuaded us, claiming it wasn't the Lord's will for us to leave. Despite our initial submission, we later realized the importance of hearing from the Lord for ourselves.

In December 2022, a wonderful family entered our lives, becoming our spiritual mentors and encouraging us to revisit the call we felt towards Charis. With renewed conviction, we quit our jobs and prepared to embark on this new chapter.

Finances were a concern, but we were blessed to attend the 2023 Campus Days, where Julianne Harris prayed with us for provision. The following day, during the Charis fair, Julianne urgently called us over, revealing that a family had paid for our entire year's tuition—a divine provision orchestrated by the Lord.

Returning to Michigan, we were energized and excited for the future. Still, we needed housing and employment. Through the Charis community bulletin, we found a basement apartment advertised by Kim, who believed it was the Lord's will for us to stay there. Confirming this in our hearts, we packed up and headed to Colorado.

Although it took two months to secure jobs, the Lord provided for us, covering our rent and living expenses. Miraculously, I found work at Sam's Club without any complications, while Victoria became a shift lead at a cookie store.

We are immensely grateful for God's blessings and provision, knowing that we are always in the right place at the right time, surrounded by the right people, with God by our side.
